My time at City University of Seattle
My time at City University of Seattle was an incredibly exciting and formative experience. The study system there was very different from Germany: Instead of only writing exams, there were many hands-on tasks, such as papers, group projects, and presentations, all of which were graded. A major highlight for me was the professors – many had professional experience with their own companies and made the classes exciting with practical examples and their openness.
One of the best aspects of my stay was the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. My fellow students came from a variety of countries like Vietnam, China, France, the USA (and Germany). It was very interesting to get to know their perspectives and lives a bit better. I hope to stay in contact with some of them. Additionally, I also met new people in the city itself, whether at cultural events, in cafes, or on outings.
Seattle itself has so much to offer – from attractions like the Space Needle and Pike Place Market to cool neighborhoods with cafes, bookstores, and a creative scene. I especially enjoyed the proximity to Canada (Vancouver was beautiful!) and my trip to Hawaii – truly unforgettable and a bucket list moment. The Emerald City is also home to major companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, which makes the atmosphere very innovative.
My time at City University of Seattle was an incredibly formative experience. I not only learned a lot academically but also made new friendships, developed my language and personal skills, and had unforgettable moments. The experience allowed me to grow not only as a student but also as a person, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to have had these experiences. Thank you!
