Visa Information:
When studying at UCLA Extension you need to have the F-1 visa, which is the student visa.Once you have paid the 500 USD (which are part of the 3,850 USD), deposit, you will receive instructions to complete the I-20 Application. Complete this application to begin the process of obtaining an F-1 student visa. It is important to complete your I-20 application fully and as soon as possible so you have plenty of time to go through the visa process. If you have any questions about the I-20 Application or F-1 visas, please contact the International Student Services Office at iss@uclaextension.edu.

Study Abroad at UCLA Extension allows you to enroll in UCLA Extension and UCLA courses alongside US students, working professionals, and international students. Courses are offered at the undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and professional levels.Many UCLA Extension courses offered to undergraduate students are the same courses offered by their main campus (same syllabus, course instruction, and curriculum) offered at a reduced tuition rate. Students can also explore the possibility of taking UCLA undergraduate courses offered by UCLA College of Letters and Science on our main campus through concurrent enrollment. It is important to note concurrent courses have a higher tuition rate and placements can be competitive.
Scholarship possibilities for international students:
The Laurel Hummel Scholarship for International Students was established at UCLA Extension in 2005 by the Hummel family to honor Mrs. Laurel Hummel, who created the first International Student Office at UCLA Extension in the 1970s.Every quarter, the committee awards three scholarships valuing $1,650 for each recipient. Scholarship funds may only be applied to offset course fees at UCLA Extension and must be used within two years of award notification.

Orientation:
The orientation takes place one week before the quarter starts. It is a week full of activities and events. Past activities have included a scavenger hunt and campus tour, an excursion to the Santa Monica Pier, hikes to iconic LA sites like the Griffith Observatory, the hollywood sign, and more!Examperiod:
The exam period at UCLA Extension really depends on the course. But most courses are designed to give students a lot of practical knowledge. Therefore, there are different assignments throughout the semester and not only one big exam at the end of the semester.Accessibility:

As an F-1 international student, you are prohibited from working off-campus without prior authorization. For eligible students, opportunities exist for on-the-job training both during and after your certificate program.

Additional Costs:
Once your application is reviewed and approved, you will be emailed a link to pay the $500 non-refundable program deposit to secure your place in the program. The $500 deposit is part of the total $3,850 International Program Fee. The deposit is due upon acceptance into the program and must be received within 2 weeks of your admission date.
Fees for one 4-unit course range from approximately $600 to $1,600. You will need to be enrolled in 12 units of coursework each quarter to maintain your F-1 status.

800 - 1,100 USD - No, UCLA Extension does not offer on campus housing. But there are housing options, which are in walking distance to the campus. The most popular housing option is the "furnished appartment". 600 - 2,500 USD Students who are not prioritising to live close to the campus can also choose to live in Santa Monica, which is a quite popular living area for students. It is cheaper than living close to the campus and there is a bus going from Santa Monica to the UCLA campus.
