Visa Information:
Students need to apply for the visa before arriving in the US. Typically students are receiving a F-1 Student Visa. The duration of your visa depends on the duration of your study program abroad. With the F-1 visa students can profit from the so called grace period. That means they are able to arrive 30 days prior to their semester start and can also extend their stay up to 60 days after their last exam. Many students use that time to travel around the US and get to know the country better. In addition, SFC has now the option to give out a limited amount of J-1 Student Visas on a case by case basis.
Why should you come and study with us?
With small classes, a low student-to-teacher ratio, and a Franciscan commitment to honoring the spirit of every individual, this is a place where you’ll belong. Together, we’ll build an education that meets your needs and serves your dreams.Study opportunities:
For a study abroad period at SFC, students may choose subjects from all programs in the following study fields:● Business, Accounting & Entrepreneurship

Bachelor students may choose four or five subjects (=24-30 ECTS) for their study abroad semester, Master students only three to four subjects (=18-24 ECTS).

Double check if your courses are on campus, hybrid or online only. It was confusing for some of us so that we had to change a lot of courses in the beginning.

Of course I loved the experience to live in New York City for a couple of months. The city never gets boring and there are always new places and things to visit. The on-campus housing is located right at the boardwalk of Brooklyn, so that you always had the best view when going out. It was like living in an american movie!
Lara Sophie L. (Fachhochschule Aachen)
If you´re going to live at the on-campus housing, you should know that you have to bring your own kitchen supplies, as well as your own blanket, pillow, .... Unfortunately this wasn´t communicated properly by the on-campus housing team.
