Visa Information:
To study abroad at UC San Diego, international students need a F-1 student visa. This visa allows students to be enrolled as a full-time student at an American university. The time period of the granted visa depends on the length of your time studying abroad. Students may enter the US 30 days before the I-20 start date and may stay for up to 60 days after the program end date on their I-20. Students typically use the 60 day grace period after the end of their studies to travel within the USA. Students can request a F-1 visa only after their application is approved and after receiving their I-20 form. In our University and Professional Studies (UPS) program, international students have the opportunity to study abroad at one of the top-ranked universities while enjoying a California lifestyle. International students combine courses from over 40 academic departments or focus on one subject area. Credits are transferrable to other universities. Our highly skilled and caring international student service staff will help the international students with every aspect of studying abroad, such as student health and welfare advising, immigration advising, activities and events, and academic advising.Scholarship possibilities for international students:
There are currently no scholarships available for study abroad students from UC San Diego. Please feel free to apply for Auslands BAfÖG or other scholarship organizations for financial aid.Internships:

Acceptance deadline is 3 weeks before the published start date. Acceptance means that the application has been received, the application fee has been paid, and the student has received their acceptance letter. However, we encourage students to apply 12-16 weeks before the start date to ensure there is sufficient time for application processing, visa processing, and travel arrangements.Application requirements:

Our students love the Fairfax Lookout on the North Head!
Only a couple of minutes from the ICMS campus in Manly you can watch stunning sunsets over Sydney. At the Fairfex lookout students spend a great time together with their international friends, eating pizza and listening to music while watching the Sydney harbour. You may even see one of the whales passing by the coast.
