Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University was established in 2006 through the cooperation of Xi’an Jiaotong- University and the University of Liverpool. XJTLU is the largest joint-venture university in China. More than 18,000 Chinese and international students from 50 different countries study at the university. International students may not only study Chinese and English language courses, but the university offers over 90 full English-taught study programs at the under- and postgraduate levels in all academic disciplines. Suzhou is China’s oldest city, and it is at the same time referred to as the "Silicon Valley" of China, due to its great location and vast network within the business and science sector. International students have the opportunity to do study abroad semesters at XJTLU at both the Bachelors and Masters level.
