For your semester abroad in Sydney you need a visa. In most cases, the 'Student Visa' application can be done online via the Australian Embassy. Students can apply for a 'Student Visa' after being accepted at the University of Sydney.Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
Health insurance is compulsory for most international students who are studying in Australia. It is a condition of your student visa that you maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of your studies in Australia. This cover needs to be arranged before you can apply for your student visa.

Scholarship possibilities for international students:
The University of Sydney offers a wide range of scholarship possibilities:Social Media Ambassador Scholarship
This scholarship is for students from statistically underrepresented demographics in Study Abroad (first in family, First Nations, LGBTQIA+, women in STEMM, student athletes) who have an influential social media presence. Students will be invited to apply for the $1,500 AUD scholarship after receiving their offer to study with us, and if selected, will receive social media training and be given ambassadorial duties to promote their Study Abroad experience.
Internships:
Combining your study abroad experience with an international internship can help you stand out in a competitive job market.Complement your academic study with relevant industry or research experience via our internship program. Students enrol in ARTS2600 and complete a minimum of 120 hours in an industry or research placement with one of our many partners or academics. The Internship unit of study is worth 6 credit points, and is taken alongside your other units of study.

389-725 AUD per week - The University of Sydney provides peace of mind in finding a place to live by offering our students guaranteed accommodation in student accommodation buildings within a 15 minute walk to campus and located on the doorstep of downtown Sydney.They have negotiated a special 20-week contract rate and length for Study Abroad and Exchange students at most of our preferred properties. Contracts start the week before Orientation and finish the week after the final exam period, meaning students don’t pay for additional weeks they won’t use. Your study abroad adviser will provide more information on how to apply for guaranteed accommodation once you accept your offer.

Our students love the Fairfax Lookout on the North Head!
Only a couple of minutes from the ICMS campus in Manly you can watch stunning sunsets over Sydney. At the Fairfex lookout students spend a great time together with their international friends, eating pizza and listening to music while watching the Sydney harbour. You may even see one of the whales passing by the coast.
